Far from a military expert, but Daesh aren’t a direct threat to the SAA and Syrian government at the moment. Capturing urban districts and cities have proven to be a real challenge for the SAA. Daesh are no machine for SAA once they fully engage as those plain fields and deserts provide no coverage against heavy artillery and a conventional military.

Losing Idilb region especially city was a major blow. SAA will seek vengeance for the atrocities committed by rebels in Khan Shaykuon and Maaraat Al Numan.
