on itunes (if you don't have it, get it !), look for the song "camel song." it is from a cd titled "folk music and ceremonies of ethiopia". somalis are represented in that song. it is so funny. i couldn't stop laughing wallahi:

i love this shidh. there is a guy in the background, you can hear him clearly, he is telling the singer what to do. well, the singer, an actual reer baadiye guy, is having a hard time with the concept. why would anyone be interested in camel song, he is thinking lol but the funny thing is that the foreigners think the exchange is part of the song

by the way, itunes has a great somali cd titled "the freedom songs of the somali republic"... recorded late 1950s, and released january 1962. holy crap ! and the sound is so good. it is part of the smithsonian collection. i'm often saddened by how we lost our archives in this god-forsaken civil war. but you can hear abdullahi kershi, ahmed shire, magool, daleeys, etc in that cd
