you can make a mistake and learn from it..but if you repeat the same mistake over and over again then something is wrong with you.
anyway if its something very bad try to forgive your self and focus on how to make your life and imaan better in the future..and try to do as many good deeds as possible read the quran pray to allah make allot of duca and you feel better insha-allah.

Tryna forget about the issue hardly ever works for me. The only resolve I find is making a list in my head of things Allah swt has blessed me with. So i'll sit there and be like, ah alhamdulilah for health, nice caring family, bit of wealth etc and sooner or later I feel better about the issue at hand.
