Nuruddin Farah

Internationally renown Somali novelist. He was awarded the 1998 Neustadt International Prize for Literature, Premio Cavour in Italy, the Kurt Tucholsky Prize in Sweden, the Lettre Ulysses Award in Berlin. Farah is also a perennial nominee for the Nobel Prize in Literature, which is one of the only major literary prizes, for which he is eligible, that he has yet to win.

One of the tallest men in the world, at 2.32 m (7 ft 7 1⁄2 in). He has the largest hands of anyone alive : his hands are 10.59 inches or 26.9 cm long. He has size 26 feet and weighs 210 kg (460 lb)

Abdulqawi A. Yusuf is a Judge at the International Court of Justice, The Netherlands, and member of the Institut de Droit International, Geneva, Switzerland. He is a former Legal Adviser to various intergovernmental organizations, including UNESCO and UNIDO, the founder and General Editor of the African Yearbook of International Law, a former Lecturer in international law at the Somali National University in Mogadishu and some other universities, and author of numerous publications on international legal matters. He holds a Ph.D. in international law, IUHEI, Geneva.

Keinan Abdi Warsame, is a Somali Canadian poet, rapper, singer, songwriter, and instrumentalist. He rose to prominence with the success of his single "Wavin' Flag", which was chosen as Coca-Cola's promotional anthem for the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Besides hip-hop, K'naan's sound is influenced by elements of Somali music, Ethio-jazz and world music. He is also involved in various philanthropic initiatives.

Human rights activist and physician. She is the founder and chairperson of the Dr. Hawa Abdi Foundation (DHAF), a non-profit organization. Recepient of the Women of Impact Award from the WITW Foundation, BET's Social Humanitarian Award, the John Jay Medal for Justice and a Nobel Peace Prize Nominee.
