But, it's pretty clear that some of you have lost the plot and allowed this false-sense of superiority to cloud reality. In that thread from two days about about Somali's relationship to blackness, you had all sorts of idiots regurgitating bullshit European scientific racism. People denouncing any slight association with "Negro blood", I accept that Somalis differ genetically from Non-horners but it was pretty clear by the way some of you worded it you thought of "Black" people as inferior and didn't therefore want to be associated with them. Are you guys ignorant of history? Do you not remember the Rwanda's Genocide? The Tutsi were regarded as being mixed with Caucasoid against the Hutu and thus pitted against each other. Can we talk about the state of Somalia and Somalis? What are the three things associated with Somalia? Failed state, piracy and Islamism (Al-shabab). That is literally the image and current reality of our country. We pretty much come last by most metrics. The state of us in the west isn't any better, we fall behind in education, we have low employment rates and high crime rates. You guys criticize African-Americans for criminality yet look at Somalis in London, Minnesota and Toronto. Somalis aren't special people immune to the socioeconomic factors that lead to this criminality.

So where does this superiority complex towards other black people come from? Are you guys forgetting that it's the "bantu" African (Nigerians) that are the most successful and educated? We aren't Indians/East Asians with a model minority status for you guys to be moving so superior. Somalis are known for being benefit cheats and can't say that's a lie, I know so many Somalis doing all sorts of scams, my neighbor is legally divorced. I saw some idiot in that thread bragging about how Somalis know their fathers, how much is knowing your father's name really worth? Do you guys understand how prevalent single motherhood is in Somalis? You make fun of African-Americans/Black for having baby mama's and side-chicks yet we come from a culture where the men are often getting married to multiple women and having plenty of children? How is that much better? Very often these men contribute the equivalent to alimony, that's it, they don't do the Islamically-advised equal-time-sharing thing. Even with the dad's that are present, they are still often absent from their child's lives. It's pretty much known in the Somali community that hooyo acts as both hooyo and aabaha.

Do you guys know the horrors of the self-inflicted civil war? My family only narrowly escaped with their life, the driver they were with got randomly shot and my dad was so lucky to not get grazed. You had bullets flying left and right, you have women being taken and raped in the streets, my dad's house was looted and destroyed. How the fuck if we're capable of doing shit like this do we have the nerve to sneer at African-Americans for looting/causing violence in their rioting? Wallahi the hypocrisy knows no bounds.

I feel like some of you guys need a reality check, we are the last people to be out here throwing stones. It's very easy to just try and distance yourself from the despised but if you do any sort of objective introspection you'd see we're pretty similar and in a lot of ways much worse of. I am not encouraging any sort of self-pitying or victimhood or inferiority complexes, I'm just stating the truth. Maybe one day we'll return to our glory days and have some actual grounds for our narcissism but for now lets leave it yeah? They don't seem to understand that racial classifications aren't based on any rational grounds so appealing to any sort of genetic differences if futile. If Rashida Jones who has like 30% Black is black, what the fuck makes most of these dudes (who are darkskin/dark brown which most Somalis are) think they're not? We're classified as black, running away from that isn't going to do anything. What does somalias political situation have anything to do with our pride? Somalis in North America that claim black or get offended when a fellow Somalis says "i am not black" have identity issues. Simple as that they can cry all they want about being denied their blackness whatever that means.

We are not the only group that refuses to be identified as black look at every other africans that migrated to North America. Nigerians,Sudanese Ethiopians and so on all refuse to be categorized or label as blacks. People who are not social and active never get anywhere. That's why you find young people who just came from Somalia (reer miyi) very intelligent, wise and outspoken with a very good attention to details. Overall they are socially very open and fun to be around unlike some teens and people here who are very childish, immature and Mamas boy type of people. There is also those people who are very shy, passive and quite. Those people are knows as maskiin and very common in diaspora.

All in all, to have superiority complex is better than having inferiority complex.
