I have always found it odd how the locals in Mogadishu and their tribal leaders threaten chaos and war, do they not know such an outcome will primarily affect them. What kind of societ threatens chaos at every political impasse that comes a long?

What happened tonight is a mockery of the president. That the entire Hawiye tribal elders are supporting this shows how much Somalia needs to go.
Who threatened with war? Waxa rabtid ma sheegi?

I think they know that too, when the say chaos, I dont think they mean killing each other, it just means causing disruption to gov activities and not cooperating with them. They didn't do anything other than protest.

The Imaam only intervened due to the extremely unfair nature of the attempted dismissal of Thabit, who has been doing a lot for the people of mog, they dont want a bad mayor to be appointed for them, it will after all cost them and affect their daily lives.

Hutus are strange people. They always treated like second class in their own towns by what supposed to be guests be it Dooros, AMISOM or others.

Ninyo dadkasi waba bila dhiig who hid behind the weak notion of 'wadan' iyo 'qaran'. Motha fokkaz none of you can today live in PL or JL what makes your towns national assets more so than other towns/regions hijacked by specific clans?

Hutu dad lita ruunti.

No body should question Thabit.

Funny thing is if a HG man rises his voice they all beat their chest like King Kong.

Lol you people have no idea. Thabit being corrupt selling public lands is just a smoke screen created by Shoole, Siyaad, abdishakur mire, Jamal Mohamed Hassan minister of planning and PM Kheire for two reasons:

1: Mogadishu maqaam. ( gov will never let go of the Mogadishu Cash cow willingly).

2: kheire being constantly outshined by Thabit. Thabit is probably the most popular Mayor ever. And kheire is fearing Thabit replacing him. So he is by any means necessary trying to end Thabit’s career.

The fact that the Imam of Mudulood interfered who usually stays out of politics is an indication of how serious the situation is. Thabit was about to resign last night but didn’t on the order of Imam mudulood, mudulood ugaas and Ali Mohamed Geedi. All the mudulood heaveweights where in the house of Imam last night with Thabit.

Today all the main roads where completely closed and extra security personnel was deployed to the main roads due to fear of uprising.

The sooner Farmaajo fires kheire the better for him. Otherwise they’ll Both leave together.
Imam dhuuso holds no gov position and have no say . If faarmajo decides he go he goes end of story.

Thabit has been on clannish crusade against the gov for some time he will go . Muqadishu will be capital and is neutral it can’t be a federal state .

Anyways hawyie have two mamul gobleed darood have two . If hawyie gets another one darood must also get a third mamul called maakhir state.

It will not be excepted to crest another mamul for less than half state .
Darod should not get anything let alone any land.....matter of fact they should be deported to Yemen if anything....Somalia for real Somalis.

Does Farmaajo and his failed administration read the Constitution

2- There was no executive order for the removal of Thabit. As this is not executive order it was an email from presidential spokes man office.
3- Yarrisow is still a minister and that is not legal to keep two top positions.

It looks like this is going to hurt Farmaajo even further.

Somalia: Mogadishu Mayor at loggerheads with top leaders

20.01.2018.

MOGADISHU, Somalia - The relations between the mayor of Mogadishu Thabit Abdi Mohamed and the top Somali Federal Government leaders reached its lowest level, Garowe Online reports.

GO has learned that Mohamed who is also the governor of Benadir region had involved corruption and anti-government politics that infuriated by President Farmajo and Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire.

Sources said the growing rift came after the mayor stepped up his bid seeking Mogadishu security to be brought under his administration out of the government hands, and mobilizing local clans speak the capital's status and self-determination.

Mohamed, a former diplomat at Somali Embassy in Washington was accused of fraud, misappropriation of public land and region's resources for his own political interests.

On Friday, 19th January, Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has issued a statement halting allocation, leasing, and selling of public lands in Mogadishu, an apparent message directed to the Mayor.

"I assure the Somali citizens that a national committee will be tasked with the investigation of the land issues to ensure that no public land is used for private purposes," read the statement in part.

Due to this deadlock, Mogadishu Mayor lowered collaboration with top government leaders, especially Prime Minister Hassan Ali Khaire, a former friend in the first few months of his nomination in 2017.

Several prominent elders have convened an overnight meeting in Mogadishu to show solidarity with the Mayor and released a joint statement calling on the Federal government to allow people in the capital a self-autonomy.

The elders condemned the President's statement on the public land sale as "defamatory", saying they believe it was made in order to cause a significant harm to the Mayor's reputation.

"After the fallout with former President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, Mohamed established a close bond with Fahad Yasin and joined Farmajo's election campaign in 2017," an analyst familiar with the mayor's bio.

Mohamed served as the Chief of Staff of the Presidential Palace, Villa Somalia during past Federal government and lost his post after falling out with Farah Abdulkadir, ex-minister, and current Federal lawmaker.

Somalia: President Farmajo sacks Mogadishu mayor

21.01.2018.

MOGADISHU, Somalia - Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has sacked the mayor of Mogadishu Thabit Abdi Mohamed on Sunday following corruption allegations, Garowe Online reports.

Mohamed has been relieved of his duty early this morning through a presidential decree and he was replaced with current Information minister Eng Abdirahman Omar Osman Yarisow.

The replacement came after the former mayor was accused of widespread fraud and selling illegally the public lands and government properties in Mogadishu during his term in office.

In the past few months, he has been in a political scuffle with the Federal government leaders, especially President Farmajo and PM Hassan Ali Khaire over the status of the capital and the city's security responsibility.

Thabit Abdi Mohamed was appointed to the position in early April 2016 by president Mohamed Abdullahi Farmaajo after he contributed to the election campaign of the President during 2017 polls.

After a fallout with Villa Somalia and the relations soared, former Mayor has organized an overnight conference at his office with district commissioners who elected him as governor for a 2-year term.

The overall security of the city was beefed up by Somali Intelligence officers deployed on the main streets and around the mayor's office to prevent a pro-Thabit rally.

Stop lying Farmaajo issued an official degreto ama decree.

How will this hurt Farmaajo? He said on twitter yesterday that no government land can be sold or rented

This shows Farmaajo doesnt play around.
