Trump was much better IMO despite his bashing of Somalia during his campaign rallies his foreign policy towards Somalia was benelovent at best. He even decided to withdraw all US troops in our nation. Democrats are a nightmare.

He is a Democrate like Yamamoto (peperino senior career foreign officers are named according to State's wish and not necessarily their party--hence Yamo named by Trump)

He is a Wendy Sherman protege like Yamo.

He has regional experience like Yamo (currently Amb to Djibouti and preciously embassy director roles in Addis and Nairobi).

He is less interventionist than Yamo (Yamo was Dem of older neo-liberalism variety) meaning this guy is more sensitive to "African affairs,African decisions."

He is very savvy to the role of propaganda and misinformation from all sides, not just government (I interpreted this from his cameos on Wikileaks----he seems very aware of how opposition figures in Africa can sometimes be very good at propaganda)

Pretty much nothing will change. The Somalia file is a "special" file and the Ambassador is not an executive really, he is simply the onsite member of a ",guddi/council" who together make decisions.

Yamo was a very direct, highly in your face guy. I believe this guy will be more " diplomatic" and this reflects US sensitivity to the public Farmaajo gov; they want to handle things quietly.
