A new dawn in the Horn

A lot has happened in the region over the last few months.

- So much international attention on Somaliland and its undeniable track record of peace and progress. From former US diplomats championing the cause, to some of the most well-respected publications (e.g. The Economist, Guardian..etc) outright campaigning for de jure independence, the Somaliland cause has been picking so much momentum recently. This is undeniable.

- Berbera port development going completely parabolic. No one expected this level of progress against a backdrop of a global pandemic, but we are all seeing it. As phase 1 nears completion, work beyond its requirements is already underway. What is happening is a complete reshaping of the logistics landscape in the region with Berbera emerging as the future industrial and logistical hub.

- Democratic 1-man-1-vote scheduled to take place at the end of the month will further cement Somaliland being the exception in the region.

- Add to it the complete neutering of boon farmajo, in what was a spectacular 48 hours of utter humiliation (shout out to Sahal keeping us up to date with it all!). Ending in him being swarmed on all ends by Madasha's units, and walking all his pitiful plans back.

- And then you have the photograph linked above :)

2021 has been an incredible year for Somaliland so far, and a most agonising nightmare for faqash.

Yaa salaam! :)

If only by a dint of another's misery you endeavor to attain the least degree of mental repose, you aught to be, indeed, cursed with the most abject of existence.
