Nigeria: 87 Nigerians deported by U.S arrive in Nigeria Fri. June 06, 2008 08:43 am.- By Bonny Apunyu. - (SomaliNet) A senior airport official in Nigeria said Thursday that a special flight has brought 87 Nigerians deported by the United States. The official said the Nigerians arrived on Wednesday and were handed over to immigration officials. He said some had been living in the United States without valid resident and work permits, while others had served out jail terms. Hundreds of Nigerians travel to the United States and Europe illegally, mostly using north Africa as a transit route.
