Zimbabwe: Presidential run-off vote not legitimate - EU Commission

(SomaliNet) Zimbabwe's presidential run-off is not legitimate, European Commission said Friday describing it as a "sham" and saying it did not recognize the election .
"The European Commission, like the U.N., does not consider this election legitimate or valid," a spokeswoman for the EU executive told a regular briefing of President Robert Mugabe's widely condemned decision to press on with the vote despite the withdrawal of his main opponent, who cited intimidation.
"Today's election is a sham, the election is hollow and its result will be equally hollow and meaningless," she added.-Reuters
