Zimbabwe: Gov’t, opposition MDC resume talks
Tue. October 28, 2008 04:27 am.- By Bonny Apunyu. -

(SomaliNet) A summit is being held in Zimbabwean capital Harare on the political crisis gripping Zimbabwe after one week's delay.

A meeting scheduled for last week in Swaziland fell through because opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai failed to attend.

Tsvangirai was involved in a dispute with the Zimbabwean authorities over his travel documents. Mr Tsvangirai is now due to meet President Robert Mugabe and mediators from South Africa, Swaziland, Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Six weeks ago, Mr Mugabe and Mr Tsvangirai agreed to form a government of national unity. However, disagreement over the division of ministerial posts stalled the process.-RNW
