Khalil Ibrahim spoke on Monday morning with the BBC Arabic Service Reuters assuring that he was speaking from Omdurman.

But JEM spokesperson told Sudan Tribune yesterday that Ibrahim had already arrived to Darfur.

Khalil Ibrahim also warned that his group would stage further attacks on the Sudanese capital, Khartoum.

"This is just the start of a process and the end is the termination of this regime," Ibrahim, whose Justice and Equality Movement attacked Khartoum at the weekend, told Reuters.

Asked how he would be able to get across the river Nile to key government institutions, he said: "I am not empty handed. I took a lot of things from Khartoum - a lot of vehilces, ammunition and money."
