(SomaliNet)Protesting the slaying of their colleague later on Friday, DBG Aid group in Somalia on Friday suspended its humanitarian operations in the horn of Africa nation, director said.
"DBG decided to recommend a suspension of humanitarian activities, because our deputy chairman killed in Somalia," said the director general of the group Abukar Sheikh Ali speaking to somali radio from Nairobi.
He said the move aimed to "protest the deteriorating security in Somalia and to reiterate our solidarity with the families and colleagues of the victim”.
A group of armed men shot dead Mohamed Mohamud Kheire, as he was having ablution at a mosque in Elasha Biyaha area on the northern outskirt of Mogadishu.
DBG says it has suspended all work in Somalia until further notice and has sent a team to assist in the investigation.
Daryeel Bulsho Guud popularly known as DBG is a relief agency based in Somalia's capital city.
No group has yet claimed the responsibility of the consecutive attacks against the aid workers operating in Somalia.- Mareeg online
