Somalia: Gunmen kill another aid worker in Somalia
Wed. July 16, 2008 03:57 am.- By Bonny Apunyu. -

(SomaliNet) The World Food Programme said on Tuesday that gunmen killed its transport agent in Somalia where attacks on aid workers have risen in recent weeks.

Agencies sat the man, who was shot in southern Somalia on Sunday, was the fifth WFP-contracted worker to be killed this year in the war-torn Horn of Africa nation.

"We condemn these shootings and are very concerned that growing insecurity threatens to sabotage the humanitarian response in Somalia," WFP director for Somalia Peter Goossens said in a statement.

In Somali capital Mogadishu, hundreds of displaced people demonstrated outside their camps calling for an end to the killing of aid workers. –Agencies
