(SomaliNet) Suspected militants have targeted a government car that was traveling inside the Somalia capital with a bomb attack, witnesses told Somalinet on Monday. The casualty on the latest attack is unclear.
At least two pedestrians were injured in the explosion which was so huge and totally destroyed the car but no one can verify how many officials were killed or wounded in the blast.
“I have heard a very big sound of explosion and I came out to see what happened then I saw a car set on flame, I think it was a mine buried under the ground where the car passed,” one resident who witnessed the incident said.
Shortly after the blast, the government forces sealed the area and arrested four garage workers, one resident said.
The explosion happened near the Ambassador Hotel in south of the capital mid today. No group has claimed the responsibility of the latest attack against the government.
The hotel houses several key government officials mostly military and police officers and it has been a frequent target by the insurgents.
