India: 20 killed in bus accident

(SomaliNet) A bus fell into a river after veering off a mountain road in Indian Kashmir on Thursday killing at least 22 people, police said.

According to the police, the bus lost control while taking a sharp turn and rolled down 900 metres into the Chenab River.

22 bodies had been recovered but the number is sure to rise, A police spokesman said.

Rescue workers attempting to recover more bodies were facing difficulties due to the rocky terrain of the region.-Agencies
