Middle East: Israeli airstrike kills Palestinian fighter in Gaza

(SomaliNet) An Israeli airstrike barraged the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip on Tuesday killing a Palestinian fighter while injuring another, medical workers said.

A Israeli spokeswoman said the strike targeted a rocket launching crew in Gaza that was attacking the southern Israeli town of Sdero.

Meanwhile, Egypt is in the process of mediating talks between Hamas and Israel to seal a peace deal.

This is the latest carried out by Israel in what it says is an attempt to control Hamas rocket fire. -Agencies
