Afghanistan: Explosion kills British soldier in Afghanistan Wed. June 25, 2008 07:57 am.- By Bonny Apunyu. - (SomaliNet) An explosion killed a British solider while he was checking for mines in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defence said on Wednesday. Saying that no one else was injured, a ministry statement said the soldier was killed by a suspected IED (improvised explosive device) explosion. Another UK soldier was killed on Tuesday during a firefight with the Taliban.
