US to revise North Korea's terrorism blacklist status
Fri. October 10, 2008 08:06 am.- By Bonny Apunyu. -

(SomaliNet) Washington is about to remove North Korea from its list of countries that support terrorism, reports in the US media suggest said. Some expect an official statement on the issue later today.

North Korea had responded angrily to the fact that it remains on the terrorist blacklist despite agreeing to dismantle its nuclear programme. The US previously insisted that removal from the list is contingent on Pyongyang divulging full details of its nuclear activities.

Pyongyang recently attempted to up the diplomatic stakes by reversing the dismantling of its programme. Talks continued, however, and it is believed that they have now led to the imminent concession on the part of Washington.-RNW
