Black Sea: Turkish Airlines passengers foil drunken hijack attempt Wed. October 15, 2008 09:48 am.- By Bonny Apunyu. - (SomaliNet) Passengers on board a Turkish Airlines jet flying over the Black Sea foiled what may have been a hijack attempt when they overpowered a drunken passenger who threatened to set off a bomb on Wednesday afternoon. The plane, which was carrying 167 Russian tourists en route from the Turkish resort of Antalya to Saint Petersburg, landed safely at its destination. Police searched the plane but did not find any explosives. The would-be hijacker, identified by the Turkish authorities as an Uzbek national, has been arrested. –RNW.
