Yeah i've heard something like that as well, their justification was that anything that intoxicates your body and mind is haram- Alcohol in large amounts does intoxicate you however in smaller amounts (say a sip or two) it doesn't. homosexuality doenst make you kaafir as long as you aknowledge you are sinning and that it is siomething hated by Allah.and Allah is ar-rahman and he forgives al sins except shirk. One of the things in this world Ill probably never fully understand is sexuality. These people claim its not their fault. Scientists claim its due to a chemical imbalance in the brain and that they are genetically wired to be attracted to the same sex. But, in an Islamic sense, it cant be true because its a sin, and sins are avoidable. I dont believe Allah swt would create a human being a certain way only to punish them for it. There must be another explanation.

YungNfresh, if I may ask you a question, why even bother to write this in general discussions, or talk to a Sheikh about "homesexuality" if you are not a homo? I'm not here to attack anyone, but as a straight person, I don't think about homesexuality nor do I go around posting questions about gays/lesbians and nor do I ask Sheikhs such questions.

Also, this post of yours says a lot about you, one, it says that you are trying to hide something which is very essence of who you are. I personally do not think people choose to be gay; for instance, I remember growing up and seeing my cousin who grew up with us playing with barbies and dolls, while my brothers played with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. My cousin is so feminine, I have no idea if he's gay, but I do know if he one day decides to tell me that he's gay, no matter what I will be there for him, accept him, and love him.

Anyway, why does sexual orientation bother people?? if someone chooses to sleep with someone of the same sex WHO CARES!! its not like ur gonna be in the room with them. What happen to being a good muslim and minding your own business. I'm not surprised about the intolerance y'all show but the hypocrisy is breathtaking!! If you honestly cared about your relative, then you would tell them to obstain from any homosexual activities as it is a grave sin. I for one could not just stand there and watch someone thats dear to me commit a grave sin without atleast consulting them about it. You are right though, at the end of the day we are not here to judge, but it is our right as muslims to help our brothers and sisters to the straight path.

People do choose to be gay, the choice is yours whether you want to deal with men or women.
You might be attracted to the wrong gender but to actually act upon your desires and seek a relationship with the same gender is a choice you make.

Gifted, Islam doesn't speak of: "being homosexual" and "homosexuals". Islam speaks of: "having homosexual thoughts, tendencies, acts" and what have you. Homosexual acts are punishable and a man/woman who is burdened with homosexual desires is expected to commit himself to a Jihad against these feelings. He'll be rewarded for resisting these ill feelings by Allah, just as every Muslim will be rewarded for trying to stay on the path of Allah.


You need 3 witnesses of a homosexual act to execute the transgressors.

So is being gay for someone one of lifes tests? Is it not unnatural, how could one be sexually attracted to the same sex if it goes against the laws of nature. And if they cant help it, how is it their fault? Should they decide to live a life of celibacy instead?

What do you mean with this westeren thinking of Laws of Nature? I believe that's obsolete. Part of nature is that there are deviations to every rule or norm.
