EVEN THE HOLLY MONTH OF RAMADAN CAN NOT ESCAPE IT EITHER

The last time I visited Somalinet, Osama Bin Laden had just released a new video tape threatening American and Israel with more punishment to come and Basra was in a self declare crusade to educate me and other on the forum on Somaliland’s quest for recognition and Eritrean Boy was rigorously checking my post and that of others for spelling and grammatical error, it become clear that we had self proclaimed Prof. of English literature. Other than that Somalinet was still then hosting the usual dozens of insulting and outright qabil provoking posts with usual exponential responses that usually comes with it. So what have change one may ask? Since my return to trapping of western setting; I have visited the forum a couple times in all as spectator.
My initial impression was of sadness, noting the diminishing level of sanity and logic amongst many of the members. Its seems that everyone even those that I have had great respect for their composure and the distance they have sort from qabil and post that are of personal attacks; I think it won’t be wise for me to disclose their name, nevertheless I have this feelings these members have today been indoctrinate to qabil propaganda to defend themselves from the usual sauté of qabil tantrums, slurs and arrogance more known to the like of my dear ‘Basra’ and her entourages that she usually appeals to.
Almost two decades of blood letting and tribal war fare has yet to rekindle our yarning for peace. From my personal observation at least in somalinet forum, it seems the old culture of qabil politics and ignorant that is the cause of Somalia’s illness has yet to loose its audience, though it’s the holly month of Ramadan. The typical qabil threads are enjoying an imagine hits, even the Ramadan spirits has failed to put a dent on the hate and the irrational views of an avid qabil supporter.
Browsing the Islam section says it all, it’s has only registered few views and occasional replies and recommendations. While the ‘general discussion’ section has became a bee hornet attracting the traditional Somali ‘husker’ and ‘hoodlums’ all set to prove the genealogy is of higher breed and belittle that of others. Ramadan may be for others but for many it’s has yet to registered in their conscious. Somalinet forum was ought to be a place for intellectual debate or exchange of ideas on challenges that facing us Somalis in every facet of life. Be the political quagmire of what Somalia has become or the challenges of living in western setting, instead somalinet became a platform for the ignorant and those bereft of common sense and moral fiber. For them decency is an awkward value. There faith might be Islam as such but their GOD is qabil, if one was to curse their proclaim faith I doubt it will solicit that much responses, instead if one was to curse any tribe the marauding Somali male and female alike just like zombies they will sprung up from dungeon, like flies called upon by the scent of fresh faeces they will emerged from obscurity to divulged their presumed enemy. Therefore holding any discussion about the role of qabil in Somalia in an honest manner and without prejudice is impossible.
Beside the usual posts of personal attacks that seemingly enjoys overwhelming hits and responses that greeted me in ‘general forum’ unbeknown to me there is a sprawling community far removed from what many of you will regards as the subtle content of qabil slurs link to ‘General Forum’ this undergrounds world within Somalinet is the host of the virtual qabil war and derogatory tantrums of “my tribe is better than your”, exclusively engineered for the ill mannered flocks with time on there hand, I am talking about of course the “Qabil Forum” that many members makes daily virtual pilgrimage. This is underground network that serve as base for those who have failed the basic logical test and lack common sense to attained and understand the misery and the insidious evil that is qabil.
I was invited through private message to this underground world by someone that thought I share similar views with him and more importantly qabil to wage war on other qabil that he despises for unknown reasons. It reminds me of a quotation by Samuel Butler a socialite who once was quoted saying “The truest characters of ignorance are vanity, and pride, and annoyance” nowhere else today that his quotation rings true than in Somalia in particular and off course Somalinet forums. The constant manure that seems to multiply like virus is disguise as genuine views but is nonetheless a product of shear devotion to a backward ideology and its myth that had laid siege to the mind of many Somalis here and everywhere else. Today Somalia’s political quagmire that has decimated innocents souls mostly children and women and is intent to auction the country to Ethiopia under the pretence of fighting Islamist, in my view serve as a testimony to the power of qabil ideology with its usual charade of “My tribe is superior and yours is inferior”, it’s a fact that ignorance never settle questions but indefinitely set the voyage for answer, but never to produce one.
Nowhere else is this observation ring true but in Somalia, while qabil has failed to produce a tangible peaceful solution to the war it has unleash. Its fact that Ignorance is the dominion of absurdity that find host in an empty mind, those whose mind have be conquered it will never own logic, reason and commonsense as for ‘ignorance’ is his/her best riches and is our obligation for all rational members in Somalinet to tax their riches not with personal attacks against them but to disarm their riches with commonsense and logic and not respond like them. So if some of the ill mannered swelling flocks attack your tribe, don’t loose it; but engage them by ignoring their antics, that has prove to work for me. I hope it does for you.
