Asalaamu Alakium all!

So, a quick update. I have finally found a dugsi, that is primarily concentrating on tajweed, hifdh and recitation. InshaaAllah that will go well. Besides, I had the teacher check my tajweed she said it wasn't bad Alhamdulilah.

So, hopefully things will progress from now on! InshaaAllah.

What about the rest of you?

Ps. I was told that infact the more I practise, the more I get better with my reading and tajweed.

Firstly... Ilahay haa u naxariisto your Awoowo Mcali.. :(

Anyway... Sowwie for the late reply guys.. Just been busy with work iyo revision.. I hate revising its like I'm back @ uni.. :x

Haven't really done any memorising since I completed the first Juz.. Just been focusing on learning the Tajweed rules iyo my machad course.. Its pretty intense but will be worth it in the long run InshaaAllah.. Already learnt soo much..

InshaaAllah I'll continue with the memorisation as soon as Ramadan starts.. :)

I recently joined a nearby dugsi, i want to be hafidul quran inshallah.

Just to add... If you're interested in learning Tajweed not only is a teacher a must.. But I would also recommend investing in books or audios that will teach you the rules of Tajweed as this will further enhance your understanding of what you learnt from your teacher..
My teacher recommended I get the 'Tajweed Rules of the Qur'aan' by Kareema Carol Czerepinski, its in three parts.. But its the best book to learn Tajweed rules in English...
It's available as a pdf online... :)

Also.. Another useful tool she recommended was learning/studying and even memorising the Tajweed poem by Imam al-Jazari (Al-Jazariyyah).. It's real long but I heard it helps learn Tajweed rules..
InshaaAllah it will serve as a quick reference of the Tajweed rules..

I recently came across a simpler poem which is very similar to Al-Jazariyyah called Tuhfat-al-Atfaal...

And here's a English translation of the poem..

Walikum salaam sis. Better late then never, as they say. I never went to last weeks lesson cause my mum said it was too far and I shouldn't go. I was SO upset. Wallahi. I can't put it into words. I thought is this right? I'm seeking to learn the Qur'an and my mum is saying NO :-| Wanted to speak to a Shaykh but didn't. Anywho, after that she said you're allowed to go, and I said it was too late anyways.

Cala kulli Xaal, so I'm going to go this Week InshaaAllah.

What is muchad?

And jazakAllah khair for the additional info sis. I have the ladies book, but will check out the poem and other stuff. :)

As Salaamu Alaykum bro.. Welcome back..
Haven't seen you nor Warsan around here for a few months.. I don't really come here as often no more..

But yeah I've definitely continued my Quran memorisation, even though I've been lazy with it lately.. How about you?

Alhamduliah I found a quran teacher online from hargaysa and we communicate through Skype. I learned tajweed thanks to him and your video sis. Hopefully warsan is doing good as well.

Bismillaahirahmaaniraheem

Since I never use my diary at home, for whatever reasons, I'll make one here and update it frequently InshaaAllah, plus I reckon its a better way to monitor my progress etc.

The most important thing (after intention) is to have a system. A system meaning you have a teacher who you recite to and a system of memorization of the actual pages of the Qur'an... InshaaAllah my aim for the next couple of days is to find myself a reliable teacher who I can recite to, even if its on the phone.. And set up a system and technique to memorize for myself!

Anyone who's interested can join in, we can be motivation buddies.. :)
