Islam and Politics

Since 9/11, Islam as a whole has been a much talked about topic for many people outside the Muslim World, most notably in Europe and the US. In particular, non-Muslims have been looking into the political/legal nature of Islam and many come to the conclusion that Muslims are like the Taliban who simply chop off hands and dont have any democracy whatsoever.
However this is far from of the truth whereby there are a number of views among Muslims regarding Islam, Sharia and secularism among others and I have came with the conclusion that Muslims come into one of the following groups:
1. Radical Muslims - Those who are intolerant and may commit terrorism (which is against Islam)
2. Moderate Muslims - Those who are tolerant and commits to peace and democracy
3. ID Muslims - Those who say they are Muslims as if its an ethnicity but dont do anything even the basics that a Muslims should do
In regards to Sharia in particular, Muslims would be in one of the following groups:
1. Islamic Democrats(ID) - those who are content with Sharia being ONE of the sources of law in a country and Islam being the state religion, nothing more
2. Democratic Islamists(DI) - those who in a democratc manner want sharia being the MAIN/ONLY source of law, islam being the state religion and the quran being the constitution or the source of a separate constitution
3. Militant Islamists(MI) - those who want sharia as the only source of law and build a theocracy through violence if necessary and reject democracy as we know it in every way
4. Secularists(S) - Those who want no sharia at all, believe the state and religion is separate and confine religion to private life
People, what group do you see yourselves fitting into and how should religion and politics be set up in your country (whatever it may be)
