I wouldn't ask someone i just met what his/her qabiil is.But when i get comfortable with people and i've known them for a long time, it can happen i get asked or i ask them. However i never engage in qabyaalad.

:? Sometimes I wonder WHY a person so Cosmopolitan like myself could engage in archaic or barbaric ritual like the Qabil talk. I mean, to a modern, Americanized person like myself--I should be above qabil talk. I should abhor anything so degrading like discrimination. I should aspire to be modernists like Geo or Jasmine--(who certainly engage in selective qabil talk but not in a vulgar way I might add)- here I am--at the crust of qabil mud talk. I literally take physically lustful pleasure in knowing people's qabil. It could be due to my deep cave woman urge or propensity to gossip, but it also could be just simply based in innocent qabil trash talk. How could a woman so refine, so elegant and so 18th century artist and extraordinaire stoop so low as the likes of MJ kambuli? Is Somali-ness inherent in our blood? Is Qabilism in Somalia- an auto immune disease? We see Jaale aka former Sir Lugooye aka Xplaya--- the Epitome of A Somali trivia fan, enthusiasts of anything Somali-- he baths and Xaars in anything Somali-- Historical, Contemporary or Ancient-- he is also old school and learned-- yet he is the Captain of Qabil bashing talk. At least he has gone further than myself-in active bash of Darood or what I call hate of Darood. At least--- my contribution to qabil talk is just fair, and balanced society criticism. I pick apart the nose and ears of abgaals, habargidirs- mjs and isaaqs. I get into the dirty, physically trait picking of various qabils just in the name of aesthetics more than an intent to bash or slander. I am a qabil critic éclat, if you will. :eat:

I never ask tbh usually it takes me long time to ask someone about their qabiil. After 10 something years hadan ogaday the qabiils of my homies back home. And we are the same sub sub clan Marka iska ilow asking strangers about their qabiil info. Growing up qabiil info wasn't important to us ee waxa ka muhiim sana what soccer club the person was supporting. If he supported my team we family if not dee wa war especially if he likes City, Arsenal, Liverpool or Barca. 8-)

I never ask, but usually people ask me and mostly it's isaaqs and darods that ask me my tribe. However this one time this guy asked me what tribe I was and turns out we're somehow related, pretty cool huh? :stylin:

Warsheekh aka gurey25 aka Adali

U certainly have a point. Different Qabil Somalis gathered in the local donut shop is all fakery blown in epic proportion. The unity usually doesn't last long before you see one person insult another person qabil. I cant tell u how many times I have gone to Starbucks with Somali regular customers seated around where there was no fight. One old Somali standing up and holding the chin of another old Somali man, begging for forgiveness for what he said. And the insulted old man behaving like a biaatch, instead of taking the apology like a normal man will do, he goes on pushing his hands or fingers away-- in a violent ---Waaar naga taak! I mean-- I literally get a headache or get afraid, of trusting my back at these Somalis-- usually I am dragged there by a cousin or two. I will NEVER visit a Somali hang out by myself. :eat:
