This is no surprise. Most of Ethiopia's population live in rural areas where there is virtually no utility infrastructure.

BTW, this is also true for Somalia.

They already started migrating because of the Ethiopia master plan displacement. Their government won't build high rises because they can solve the problem for free through mass forced migration. They're asserting Somali Oromo community sentiments across our lands. In ten years they won't be a minority, in 20 to 30 years they could be a majority. We're screwed, indeed.

The reason why the Ethiopian (aka Tigrai) government refuse to turn their country into middle class and doesn't build their country's infrastructure or provide better service for the people (education, houses, electricity etc) is because they fear they will lose grip of power if people start getting the education and the money. Largely due to the fact it is run by one ethnic group who is keeping everyone on lock by making them poor, weak, abusing and displacing them etc.

Haile Selassie's rule was worse. He and the royals had hundreds of billion dollars on their pocket but never build their country. 90% of them were all wars, famines and corruption. He even stayed in UK for 5 years but never learnt anything from there when he returned.
