Many things unite Somalis. Ignorance, xenophobia, mutilating children, and pretty-camel--raping being among them. It must be those eyelashes: do you know how many poems are recited by men about the beauty, the shapely curves and the intoxicating aroma of big-uddered she-camels? Anyway, you are for once correct: the threat or the perceived threat from a common enemy is a powerful uniting force for Somalis and others. Dictators, charlatans, brainless warlords, politicians, scammers and schemers, wadaads and all kinds of other assorted scum know this fact and use it to achieve their goals. Just watch the warlords in Mog and the crazed wadaads everywhere whip up anti-ethiopia hysteria in a bid to outflank Yusuf's regime. They hate his guts not because he is with Ethiopia(all Hawiye warlords were practically living in addis till very recently) but because he is Darod. But they can't say that because they will antagonise all non-Hawiye somalis. so they have to manufacture a uniting, foreign enemy.
