Fighter, no it's actually American born west Africans or some who grew up here. Shit, I don't blame them. When I go to my habesha friend's house and her friends & cousins come over, they look exactly like my people! Some I'd even think were Somali if I wasn't introduced to them.

You know what, you're right. I know this one Eritrian guy who is copy-paste of a Somali guy. Chubby, the big forehead. Sometimes when I see him, I can't help but laugh.

Eritreans and Habeshas have bigger foreheads than Somalis (in fact big foreheads are a highland adaptation), It is not exclusive to Somalis at all. The thing that makes Somalis stand out from Habash is their weak narrow jaws/chins, luminous red-chocolate skin, much looser hair, and smaller eyes. Also, the body types and mean height are different.

Somalis tend to have gracile body types (predominantly ectomorph), while Habash tend to have sturdy body types (predominantly meso- & endomorph).

Oh believe me. They can tell us apart from the Ethiopians or other East Africans. Big forehead (I am an exception), tall, skinny (I am an exception), slouch (I am an exception) and very loud (I am an exception).

Type "Somalians" on Twitter search bar and you'll see a billion people talking about us, mostly West Africans. Well, most is negative comments but they are fully aware of who we are and view us as Somalis.
I really wish you hadn't told me that, I took up the exercise and found some really nasty things being said about Somali's. Here:

@SergeMlambo "Mate, I have never seen so many somalians in one environment. Feel sorry for the girls who went Westwood there were some ugly lads out there" - I lol'd

@bxtchsaywhat "Somalians have to lubricate their heads to fit snapbacks on." -ouch

@justinadj 'Everybody hates Somalians"

@vinEIE "I don't think somalians even like Somalians!" fact.

@Jimyers6 "I hate Somalians more than Adolf Hitler hated Jewish people. Smelly, gassed, rude and just ugly race of people.'

We should all be asking our selves:

@IAamLivi "Why do Somalians not get respected in this life, please? What have they done?"

Ulterior,

Although I agree for proper family planning, I think you're overassuming the dangers population growth presents. It's the opposite a people should be concerned about. Dying population cannot be overturned. Before limiting family growth, let us focus on issues of security, education, and production. Preferably in that order.

Population growth is a scare tactic that is used by the North in hopes of economic manipulation and dominance of the South. It's bs. Management and corruption are far more serious problems and will be worthy of blame when it comes to rioting and deaths ensued.
Alpha,

You definitely have a point there. Management is crucial, especially when we consider the fact that the UK has 62m people in an area a third of Somalia.

However, you cannot deny that the population of the earth is rising and entering unchartered domain. I don't think we had ever cracked the 7bn mark before in history until very recently. According to current UN projections, the earth's population is set to rise to 8.9bn by 2050. A 47% increase from 2000.

Not only that,
Three African regions — Eastern Africa, Middle Africa, and Western Africa, will grow unusually fast in comparison to every other region through 2100
On top of this, Somalia has the added problems of poor management, security and education that you mentioned. Wouldn't it be easier for us to get it right with a smaller population? What makes you think we can allocate resources any better if we're 10-20 times bigger?

The problem is very real as Nigeria has found to its cost. They are now scrambling to contain it and find better ways of managing it.

The Philippines will also be starving soon.
The Philippines also suffers major human-caused environmental degradation aggravated by a high annual population growth rate, including loss of agricultural lands, deforestation, soil erosion, air and water pollution, improper disposal of solid and toxic wastes, loss of coral reefs, mismanagement and abuse of coastal resources, and overfishing.

So all in all I think it's all about the quality of life of citizens rather than size of population. I think a population the size of Belgium's is easier to manage than Indonesia.

Corruption will never go away. It's a problem you cant fix. We should deal with corruption by limiting it. Corruption should be "measured". I call it "measured corruption".

I deserve a Nobel Prize
Or, resources employed to engage in useless battles like "the war on drugs" can be reallocated to tackle corruption. :geek:
