Well-to-do countries that had strong functioning governments were robbed in bright daylight, what makes you guys think that Somalia, a country that has not had any form of governance for over 25 years will not and cannot be robbed? :?

It is only robbery when the 10% cut is an amount that would be used to invest in the country because it would not be enough. However...what we have is a 10% cut being shared by a handful of corrupt people. Does that sound like a robbery to you?

10% for ten years I think is a fair deal if, within ten years we can pump lets say 1million barrels every week. We'll have the latest pipeline technology and the most safest ones. Oil can be pumped to all corners of somalia. SNA gets enough weapons and training to fend off Ethiopia, Amison, and Alshabab. Before the deal is sign, we will have a clause that says when the current %10 deal expires, next deal will start from %30 and above. I doubt cadan european men will have somali talking to them like this.

I agree with with Jabutawi. Lets keep it underneath our feet whilst we are in this position.

As some folk have already said.....without addressing the endemic corruption and lack of institutions, you may as well give the money to a Somali piss head. :)

With due all respect, this gentleman is part of the government and his argument is no more than a PR.

Since the government is not a dictatorial regime and claims to represent its people it must be transparent and forth coming about how it awards large contracts. How come if is the western media that always sheds light on them?

They don't have to publish all the details but the public needs to know things like why was entity x awarded a contract silently without a tender, etc?

Jasmine on this page tried to argue that if Puntlanders can support their gov and MPs why can't we. Well you know what is wrong with that argument, two wrongs don't make a right, but most of us aren't any different.

The truth is simple, every man(and woman) will defend their qabiil leaders' biddings, whether its selling our country, saying no to poor refugees, raping and even killing.

Somalia will never see a penny from this, neither will it ever get back to its feet until we deal with qabiilism.

Didn't mean to pick on you BV, but it shows you that even those that aren't qabilist, have these lenses, where we can't see through to our mistakes.
