Somaliland should be ashamed of themselves, they politisize everything and take ictiraaf to insane levels. Their hatred for the Wanlaweyn is unmatched and is exhibited right here, rather than host these Poor IDPs they cruelly turned their back on them

Re: I've lost hope in somalinimo
Somalinimoy xaal qaado! Many of participating in this thread don't give a rat ass about Somalinimo. Waaba aY ku raaxeystaan dhibaatada Somalida kale.
With that said I truly hope hard time like this will unite us and we should do whatever we can to help these poor people.
However, let us not jump the gun. It's not fair to judge the people of SL based on one YouTube clip, that seems to be semi-political motivated. Not to say that I don't acknowledge the suffering of these refugees, but knowing Somali journalism everything waa out of proportion.
I know couple of people who work for the Danish refugee council and I know a fact there are services provided for the qaxoontis while they stay there including their bus fare to whatever village they come from, when leaving.
Being qaxoonti is not a walk on the park. There will always be abuses and people who take advantage of needy people. They would now after all they have been living in Yemen as refugees.
Ilaahay ha u gargaaro. Ayagoo nabad qabana deeganadodi ha ku sugo.

At least they could have been moved to the interior by the gov.
It's almost June now, the hottest month of the year, in the hottest place in SL.
Hargiesa & Burco are not far and probably more prepared to accommodate the refuges.

Think of Somaliland as Somalinet.
Somalinet has moderators.
Somaliland has a Government.
Those mods have responsibility to keep the place in check.
The Government have responsibility towards those that landed on their shores.
Moderators are sometimes late/slow to act and do something about blasphamous topic. But eventually get to it and do their jobs.
Somaliland government will eventually do whats expected of them.

Re: I've lost hope in somalinimo
Ilaahay haa uu gargaaro dadka dhibaateesan. Truth be told neither FGS, Puntland or Somaliland has the resources to re-settle people. The weather in Bosaaso and Berbera is hot, harsh and unforgiving, this is made worse by the lack of facilites/infrastructure and limited government services. In Puntland, the gov't, the public and business owners have been trying to organize and provide for the new arrivals, however much more needs to be done in terms of shelter, food, health services, and travel to other destinations in Somalia. Do your part, every little bit helps whether you send it to Hamar, Hargeisa or Bosaso. AND, can we stop referring to Somalis coming back to Somalia/Somaliland as refugees. They are not. The Yemenis are.

Re: I've lost hope in somalinimo
The video spoke volumes as to what is wrong with the Somali *governments*, they expect NGO's to provide for them and carry out services that the government should be doing out of their own coffers. This video is merely representative of Somali bureaucracy on all levels; the moral decadence, lack of empathy, narcissism on a macro level..ETC.
I am wholly disgusted, repulsed and shocked by the actions of my government. This disgusting behaviour is totally unacceptable.

I have an idea. There are arrivals in Mogadishu, Berbera and Bosaso. The Somalinetters from each community should send funds to Sheikhs in each of those cities. Even a donation of $5 is better than nothing. I will open a topic in the Puntland section with the details to the Hawala accounts for the Sheikhs in Bosaso.HorseedS wrote:How can you treat your fellow Somali's like this?
