(SomaliNet) Eleven people, two of whom local radio journalists killed and four others were wounded when a convoy carrying Somali government delegations was attacked by clan militia in Middle Shabelle region in south-central Somalia, reports say on Wednesday.
The chairman of Middle Shabelle authority Mohamed Omar Delle who was part of the delegation has survived from the ambush.
Witnesses told Somalinet that one of the rival clan militias had opened fire on the convoy of the delegations in Biya-Adde village where the bodyguards and the attackers exchanged gunfire for several hours.
A Middle Shabelle authority official told the local media that two radio journalists (Mahad Ahmed Hassan and Abshir Ali Gabre) who were following the delegation died in the attack.
The delegate continued with thier journey after the attack and reached their destination for mediating between rival clans in the region.
