Libertarian, my foot! Whose heard of a Libertarian gunning for a confrontation with Iran, Poetess? As I said, neo-Conservative is the best you can hope for.

As for Iran, their hegemonic game of Middle Eastern domination is quite evident. Considering the history of Western powers in the area, the Iranians seem to be thinking to strategically strangle the West into some semblance of co-operation. Pro-US Empire goons - consider this; if the US weren't so gung ho about squashing Middle Eastern democracy back in 1953, there would be no Mullahs ruling in Tehran today. Ayatollah Khomeini would have no boiling rage and fury of the Iranian people to ride on. I'm sure Mossadegh would have had some choice words for any uppity Mullahs during his time. The Shah, also, was very good at controling the Mullah's, and he was run out of power by the same forces that put him there; was getting too independent minded, and nationalistic, you see.

Welcome to the world or unintended consequences, America!

I agree that dumping Mossadegh was a bad move. But Pax Americana was in its infancy back then, and running the empire with a competetor wasn't so simple. Mistakes are bound to be made. Getting rid of Allende was a good move, for example. So you live with the good and the bad.
