I've never used UBuntu specifically, but it should be similar to other Linuxes I've worked with.

What's your problem?

Solid indeed dude. The package manager rules, the damn thing will find any driver for any device unlike the Yast for Suse.

Gatspy,

I know. I got converted to Ubuntu last Fall. The benefits over XP have been no viruses, spyware, no crashes and peace of mind.

I love the UBuntu repository.

Linux rules !

AW i haven't used the repository yet, actually i haven't set it up yet. I hear that there is enough apps from all kinda sources. Any idea if there is any games packages there.

Monk i thought that it was pretty dull too coming from suse. But i kinda got used to it, and its very decent OS.

Thats a failed install EMM. u might want to re-install it. It could be the boot manager, in this case GRUB. check for any floppy disketts or cd in the drives as well.

How does the free OS compare to an Apple product like the upcoming Leapord?

[is it better then XP and Vista ?]

Be specific. I mean, in what department? In the looks or under the hood?
