I swear it's like the Eritrean revolution all over again. No one gave a crap about our struggle except Somalia who provided logistical and political support while the horn neighborhood stayed silent.

I know a lot of Eritreans who share the same sentiment that what going on in Somalia is unjust, because the situation is all to familiar to us. I know a lot of Somalis are disappointed by actions taken by some folks of the MJ tribe. But at the end of the day ALL Somalis will be needed to defeat the external threat. So it's important for the freedom fighters in the field to not only participate in the fields, but also be politically active with the masses. Ethiopia and other outsiders should not be allowed to pit one Somali tribe against each other. Only the Somalis holds the key to their destiny!

The Eritrean are the most nationalist people I have ever heard or seen. They are well-organized and freedom-loving people driven by the love of their country. At most 5 million in latest estimates, they were able to stand up against one of the biggest military powers in Africa. I am ashamed to be a Somali Walaahay when I see how united few can achieve a lot because over 10 million Somalis can't. Our legitimate leaders, when chased out of their country, couldn't stay in Kenya because of fear, couldn't stay in Djibouti because of fear, but they can stay in Eritrean and say whatever they want to say. All our legitimate leaders are now in Eritrea including the elected speaker of the parliment.

Even their singers are nationalists because during the 1998-2000 war, they would go to the frontlines and would perform free concerts for the troops. Amazing!!!!!!!

I was in Addis Abeba mid 1998 to 99 and the ethiopian had the same thing . Their star performers were singing for their troops in Badme's vicinty, some where even singing in somali for the Ogadenia National Guard

Guhad..The reason the singers are so nationalistic is b/c 99% of them either fought during the revolution or preservation war w/Ethiopia. So they aint no popcorn made singers by the government, they feel the what the soldiers go through during these times and in turn get the same respect from the soldiers.
