A united state of Africa. Somalia and pan africanism

Postby Ican » Wed Jun 13, 2007 11:46 am

Taking a very big leap from the problems of tribe in Somalia, what do you think of the possibility of a united Africa? What are the economic benefits? Political benefits, if any for Somalia. Is the continent too divided religiously, ethnically, culturally to even think about such a union? Will Somali's embrace pan Africansism?

Simply put, the bloated bureacracy needed to govern such a proposition would kill it.

[And why not?]

Because pan-Africanism like other non-Islamic concepts such as nationalism, qabiilism, etc is against Islam and isn't compatible with Muslims. Pan-Africanism seeks unity based on race, color, Afro hairstyle, etc.

Arabman,

Pan-africansm seeks unity based on geography and shared history of Africa. Islam will still be practiced by Muslim nations within a united Africa. Religion is not the barrier some people make it to be.

How are you going to propose unity for ALL Africans when OUR people are still killing each other and hate each other?

Some people don't conform with the concepts of Islam. Myself, even though I am Muslim, I wouldn't want Somalia to be rule by Islamist simply becouse I don't trust them and they are too immature.

I agree with you, we need to understand each other and build your country first. But I wouldn't mind if were part of a positive Pan-African union.

[Religion is not the barrier some people make it to be.]

Actually, religion is the only concept that can unite people of different races, ethnicities, languages, etc. What unites Europe is religion. Also, the alliance between Europe and America is based on religion. If you think a concept similar to pan-Africanism has succeeded in uniting people of different religions, then cite an example.

Ugaas Boon,

Your Messiah Afweyne who brought your people from the wild and whom you worship, use to refere god as Ilahayaasha, not Ilaahay.

He also killed several Muslim Sheikh when they told him not to contradict the Quran.

He has also said Mohammed (SCW) and Jesus (CS) were niman sir iyo khayaano badan like himself and he would leave his mark on history like them.
