1. some of them do, some of them dont. middle class families who have little education background know where their ancestors are from.

2.yes some of them look down, especially those from lower class strata. they envy some1 Africans from the motherland. i dont know, but its not true for all of them.

They were brought as Slave, they don't know where abouts in Africa they are from. Their surnames are the surnames of their masters.

Some of them love Africa and Africans, some think we all eat wild beasts and go about naked.

Naaima,

There are lots of books and articles written about the African-American roots, and how African-Americans relate, or behave toward other Africans. But before I let you set off to your local library, try to rent a movie called "Coming to America", with Eddie Murphy. I assure you, you'll find it very entertaining.

i've been to the us twice and everytime some afro americans would ask me if i was from africa and would refer to africa as a single country. One time i went to the supermarket with my uncle and the guy at sams club was like is there big booty, naked women in africa and other ignorant questions, i would always nod and smile.

We were sitting at home one day when suddenly my aunt, who came straight from hargeisa, arrived home with two police escort. We all ran outside, huged our aunt, some of us about to burst into tears, and frantically asking the police-- 'What is the matter'?? The police calmed us and explained the situation, we all gasped when we heard what had exactly happen. I started cracking up---in the midst of tears after listening to what she said. Laughing Laughing Laughing

Apparently my aunt walked into a bus with her usual 'xaraago' walk and sparkling hargeisa dhiracs, and sparkling jewelry. In the bus she encountered afro americans women started hating on her and making fun of her Catar smell. (To be fair to these ignorant jareers--the somali catar smells, but since she is my aunt, i am willing to pretend it does not smell.)So anyway, after making alot of noise and making fun of Aunt Anisa- she simply looked at them--English is a problem for her--so what she did is-- mix hand gentures with her broken English. Her hand genture was tied together as if --saying slaves in chain...and then spoke

"Me come from Somalia with my suit cases-- u all came to america in chains., Me listening to my Ipod, u all were stinking shiir, in your slave ship- we not the same"

The entire adoon in the bus descended on her,old afro woman, young afro woman, afro men, invalid afro men, they all wanted to beat her up, the bus driver had to intervene. Thankfully, the bus driver was an arab man from egypt...he called police and she got a ride to protect her life.Since then she is absolutely not permitted to take public transport nor speak to any Afro american people.

Alaaa Somali kibiir badaana hede-- i think i have enuf kibiir but i can never articulate it or think it the way my aunt did. Bisinka! Rolling Eyes Laughing Laughing Laughing

The ignorant, low class Afro-Americans look down on anything and everything -- but so do all poor and self-titled 'disadvantaged' people.

The higher class African Americans all think they're from Ethiopia [and not their real homeland, Nigeria]

...we Somalis do what we can to not tell Nigger Americans their true roots..and if we do, we get a delicious knuckle sandwhich. Surprised

Basra,

Your aunt is a nutcase and a public nuisance; taking public transportation with smelly Cadar all over her body. I'm now glad you and your kinship don't allow her to take a public transportation with a smelly Dirac any more.

1. No they don't know what countries in Africa they come from. They go to South Africa thinking they have descended from the bantus when most african americans, except for those from Lousiana area, are the descendents of west africans.

2. No they don't look down on africans but they do envy/hate africans for simple reason that africans work and go to school while these dumb niggers think someone is acting when he goes to school or holds a job. Laughing

Some hate africans especially those with lower status and those with no or little education background...But overwhelming majority do like Africa the continent and Africans in general....Blacks in the south are down to earth people with little attitude.

Naaima,

A#1. For the most part I don't think so. African-Americans do wanna find out their history lines. They're conscious about knowing but have no clue where to start.

A#2 Not true. Its the other way around. The people especially from Ghana, Nigeria and some of the other African nations are envious of blacks in America. For one thing, they're jealous of lighter-skinned blacks with pretty features.

Okay, there are pretty cool ones, who are smart and go to school and work, and are just like every other human. And then there are the retarded ones that deserve to be called niggers..wallhi. And a good majority of them are like that.

One time this Somali kid was on a bus reading a book and the bus stopped quick and his bag dropped on the floor and all his books felled out...three black kids on the back of the bus started to laugh and one said "thats what you get for trying to be a whiteboi"... Laughing Laughing Laughing that kids absolutely despises black people..wallhi its not even funny...he always refers to them as niggers..."ah another nigger" buu dahaa if he sees them Laughing Laughing

I used to fight some of them when I first meet them...which was like in 5th grade..before only white kids and white-washed kids bas baan arki jirey...then I went to fifth grade to a somewhat black school..and they used to call me and two other somalis.."african-booty scratcher"...

most blacks don't care about history, they don't take the whole slavery thing very seriously. they're too busy blaming the white man for everything, i've never met a black person who was honestly curious about where i'm from or even Africa in general. the one thing that we all agree on is that the blacks that live below the poverty line are the most ignorant, they're like animals.
