This thread typifies some of the things that disgust me about Somali's.

When I think of Oil in Puntland, and its proceeds, I'm thinking of the potential billions that can go into reconstructing the infrastructure of the WHOLE of Somalia, Somaliland and the Ogaden included. A comprehensive high way system, 8 desalinisation plants, city reconstruction, skilling the country, etc.

All others can think of is lining their pockets and benefiting their qabeel. Turning us into a resource and cash rich nation, but poor in everything else ala Arab qashin is not satisfactory.

I think the posters on this topic were just being light-hearted, the heavy usage of emoticons suggests so. I think your heart is in the right place as to where the money should go. Left and right, the sky and below it, all the way to where it is needed. A highway system, better yet, any road system in Somalia is necessary at this stage.

The bigger things are how the wealth should be split. Certainly a pipeline that is exclusive to only Sool and Nugaal will bring in the question of who the earnings should go to, better yet, who should be there to assist the harvest. So many questions, I think that's what people are giddy and up-in-arms about.

But I take it that your suggestion is the best thought out in the bunch.

MJpride, I agree but Cabdi Ciise are damn too ignorant like Dhullos. It is a conventional wisdom that Dhulos women are easily accessible even if they are married.

Well put Padishah, but lets be realistic sxb.. that money is staying in PL. WE have to fix our home before we can fix anyone elses sxb.. well atleast that's what I believe.

I agree with Padisah. The current leadership in Somalia, the oil $$$ wouldn't get to the average Puntlander. I think Puntland's Range Resources people were actually pushed back by locals.

Without responsible, educated, and most importantly ethical leadership.....oil might create more problems and civil strife in the area than currently exists. One need only to look at the Nigerian Delta situation as an example.

Maybe we could do a Quule for Oil trade.
