What do you do for a Living?

Postby Shilka » Wed Jul 11, 2007 8:40 pm

Looking around the forum, I'm surprised there are many of you well into your later 20's and even older, so it makes me more eager to engage in conversation, now what I'd like to ask is what all of you do for a living.

I hope there are consultants and IT analysts/technicians out there, its a hot job amongst Somalis these days.

Baller69, I work as an IT support specialist for Intel in Sao Paolo, Brazil. I'm off for the next 6 weeks, staying at my co-worker's home in a village near Fortaleza. Its a low-paying job for what I'm used to getting paid, and also a very low-level place to start for a guy with my experience - which is decent - but my goal is to work up the ladder and gain access to greater employment in Latin America.

The level of sarcasm on this website is already bringing a smile to my battle-scarred face, I think I'm going to love being here.

I too, baller69, can find myself working a second shift here.

Cute. Would that be 120,000 lira or dollars?

I once thought taxi driving was lucrative; poor kid from Somalia goes to the first world and makes first world dollars. However, there are much better options for the same energy and time spent. Much better options, in terms of quality, freedom, and salary.

Gee wal-mart-boy, what do they pay you at Wal-Mart nowadays... because all your carts are dirty with what others left behind, and at the parking-lot, you can’t find space because carts are blocking the way....

<sarcasm>
