Only, call you when they need money or when someone died, then only you exsist to them. When I was In Hargeisa last year I only gave my direct familiy lagac the rest I told them iam a poor student, but they are persistent ppl once you give them money they go like allah ya ku ducee when you tell them iga ralihow wa ku habaarayaan.

The-Screw,
I gave them my cell phone

big mistake (kinda)....I sort of feel sorry for them since they're my kin so I send them money and consider it Sadaqa......God will multiply.
I had to send $100 today b/c my cousin in B/Xaawo got locked up b/c he took $100 from Dahabshiil that didn't belong to him.....I had to spring him out of jail.
.........maybe it was just a hustle.

AW, wtf man!
I haven't gotten calls, YET, people start calling you when you hit 21, its sort of a tradition in my house.
But my family overseas does well; they all live in the bigger and faster growing cities as opposed to the abandoned ones; I've got folks in Gaalkacyo [tons], Kismayo [tons], Garoowe [one], and Bosaso [one].
I'll give it a few more years before they destroy my phone bill.

264. O ye who believe! cancel not your charity by reminders of your generosity or by injury,- like those who spend their substance to be seen of men, but believe neither in Allah nor in the Last Day. They are in parable like a hard, barren rock, on which is a little soil: on it falls heavy rain, which leaves it (Just) a bare stone. They will be able to do nothing with aught they have earned. And Allah guideth not those who reject faith.
[Surah: Al-Baqara]
