I actually never meant for that statement to be mistaken for a Utopian societal structure. What I wanted to point out was that the problems in Somalia start and finish with men and their want/need for authority.
Many people concluded that the Somali elders should step aside. And if that did occur, the younger Somali men of different qabiils would conspire and behave in the same formation. It is a continual cycle, a cycle that was opening in 1989. Somalia and non-overnment will live side by side, until some real cut threw action is taken.

Yes, open minded indeed. Most people here like to fantasize I am the chief qabiilist but I happen to be the most open minded and more concerned about general Somali well-being then most of the individuals here. Good point there but you have not provided a clear solution.

isaaq for president that way the pro somaliland's will have no choice but be part of somalia. This is good for darod becouse isaaq at peace with them on the whole and darod have no anomasity against isaaq and finally tthey can recreate the wonders they have achieved in somaliland on a bigger scale by redeveloping somalia.

Put the blame game aside. Its fruitless. Everyone knows the history and you don't need to re-hash it again. Past is the Past, if you keep dwelling on it, you will never have a future.
Thats the first step to any kind of reconciliation.
You then need all parties, from every single SOMALI clan, movement and political ideology. That sounds like French to a lot of people on this forum, but you don't have every player, its going to be fruitless too.
This can't happen with the Ethiopians though, alienating even the former ICU leaders isn't gonna help and just fuels more fire. But dammit, they won't leave anytime soon and they have to be pulled out.
To reconcile, you need everyone basically, fresh...no outside interference... GENUINE above all.. even if you wanted to kill the guy across from you at one point or another.
I don't see any of this happening as we are the wretched of the earth right now. Laakiin Haddii Allah yiraahdo....

With Somali politics being little more sophisticated than a juvenile d!ck measuring contest, is there little wonder why Somalia is the way it is?
As I keep saying, when we find leadership that puts the interests of the country before their own personal interests, or the political ambitions of their clan, we might get somewhere.

Its easier than you think.
first of all we have to forget the idea that a foriegn country will elect your qabiil to be the royal qabiil of somalia and rule it by force.
secondly we have to talk.
We the isaaq did this in 1991 we had thousands of delegates in burco for several months of debating and debating and debating, without a sign of the UN or any toher forign agency, and we pulled it off.
we had another qabiil wide conference involving all the northern qabiils not only isaaq in 93 borame and we elected another trasitional government.
for somali reconciliation to succeed we have to have it on somali soil

If somalis want to reconciliate, this is the way to go:
1. You need to wake up from your dreams. There will never be any somaliweyn. Djibouti said no in 1977, Ethiopia will not give up their part, Kenya will not give up their part, and ppl in Somaliland have choosen to be independent from Somalia. I know truth hurts, but first step is thats somalis have to wake up from their dreams, have a look in the mirror and say; Somaliweyn dhimatay eeh, sidaanu hore ugu soconaa?
2. After step one, the only ppl who can reconciliate somalis are SOMALIS(the parts involved in the conflicts)!! Somaliland understood that decades ago, its time for Somalia to understand.
3. There will never be peace in Somalia before Somaliland get recognised. You have to understand that you have about 3 million ppl who hate Somalia and the somali flag. Does not matter if it will take 100 years for somalilanders, but thats means 100 more years with problems in Somalia.

1. Put an end to international meddling
2. Put an end to blood money and revenge
3. Select 1 Ugaas from every clan and create a council of elders
4. Select the top academics and religious people and get them to lead the country for 10years following set aims and objectives and a common purpose.
During those ten years establish a good constitution that guarantees the rights of all citizens and maps out their responsibilities to the country and focus on economic development.
Provide dhaqan celis for all citizens, young and old and invest in creating a strong national identity.
Then after people have a clear national identity and are loyal to Somalia and not their clans, allow them to vote for their leaders.....allowing only citizens who demonstrate their loyalty to the country to stand for leadership.
All leaders from president to local councillor should be answerable to the council of elders. Then bit by bit, once we have a strong parliament established we can significantly reduce the role of the council of elders and make them ceremonial.

you can take any of the unemployed political prostitues and give them a post,
hell !, you can even take one our mensturating camels and make her President of Somalia,
but it will mean nothing to a real Somalilander.
