Reena take it from someone who has lived with horn of africans-oromos,habeshas(ethio and eritrean) adere and somali. All horn of Africans have this thing in their culture not only are they different but superior to non horn of Africans.Haile Sellasie told the UN "we are not black." ie don't treat us like Africans.
This thought pattern developed in their environment-even today the horn is surrounded by deserts and the ethio part is filled with high steep sided mountains precluding the arrival of foreign influence that could have widened their worldview,in short insularity encouraged the belief in mythical origins coupled with ideas of the inferiority of rarely seen if not mysterious foreigners ie xenophobia.
Time passed and the environmental problems brought every horn of african to Nairobi in the last 20 years and I can make certain observations.
Firstly all refugees remain coccooned in their ethnic groups as they try to get to the US,still recovering from their homeland traumas. When this fails (usually the eritrean is the first),the refugee looks for a job and discovers GASP! the Kenyans surrounding him,Maasais,Kambas and Kikuyus are not as ugly as he was brought up to believe-many being semi-hamitic have the same straight oval faces long noses and lighter complexions than true bantus he has been led to denigrate if not despise.More importantly they have more money than he and are surprisingly intelligent.
Secondly depending on his intellectual acuity or rather honesty as his economic situation improves and local interaction broadens his mental horizons he discovers how silly the superiority issue truly is. Kenya is no longer rated as an LDC-to my knowledge no other African country has escaped this category no horn of african was involved in the planning or attaining of this singular achievement .
As time passes interaction reaches its inevitable climax-inetrmarriage of Kenyan men and Horn of african women. The somali community on the surface avoids this path since their men I'm sorry to say require the comfort zone of hatred and supposed superiority to shield themselves from their own shortcomings-educational,moral or otherwise;in my previous post I hinted at the question you are asking but now its time to say the truth-SOMALI MEN SUFFER THE WORLDS BIGGEST INFERIORITY COMPLEX!

You are generalzing here mr theyuuku, where did you get this load of crap from?? Seriously, if anything its the Ethiopians and Kenyans who suffer inferiority complex with regards to Somali presence in their countries, and jealous of our success, because the majority of their populations are below the poverty line. Somalis on the other hand help each other out and people like me in the west send thousands of dollars every month../ well i don't i'm currently broke, but people like me send a lot of money to their relatives back in Africa, and kenyans and ethiopians think we are loaded with money. For example in kenya we had like 5 kibaruwas(maids) working for us, some of who's jobs were just to wash my undies and socks cool huh? Anyway, to come back to your comment about Somali men being hateful and insecure, I would just like to inform you that we are indeed a loving people who love their addoon brethrens with passion, and to accuse us of inferiority complex is asking for trouble. If anything we suffer from superiority complex simply because we are Somalis.

My post was motivated by a buddy who told me the following story last week.One of the few drinking somalis at a bar poured out a semicoherent tale purportedly explaing how somalis ARE SECOND AFTER WHITES!Mainly because they have the same features meaning Allah loves them more than blacks.
Having heard similar bullshit and witnessed countless demonstrations of this mindset I decided to analyse the root cause and have reached the inescapable conclusion.

This is the wrong approach to fight for equality with the honourable somali man, Mr.Theyuke.

Last week I was totally infuriated by a black man who kept telling me that I was not African and that somehow I being a Somali was responsible for what is happening to 'the ethnically black African people' of Somalia. I was like what the hell? and thought the man must be confusing Somalia with Sudan and gave him a lecture on Somalis exclaiming vehemently that we are 'African' and that although there are few Arabs among us, the Somali tribe is African through and through. He kept repeating...'you're African? You're African?' sarcastically. But at last I managed to put him in his place and got him to stop making ignorant assumptions about what is happening in Somalia and what an African looks like.

So reena or whatever you're name is, I would suggest you do the same and stop generalising Somalis. We, by no means 'HATE' our African brothers and the few ignorant people who profess racist tendencies are just a sick minority who hate everyone, not just other Africans.
