Lugh Ganane,

Get rid of your cuqdad towards Mogadishu people or next time you will loose your balls Laughing

Why does this surprise you btw? Did you think life stopped the moment your hero had to run away from Mogadishu?

Well, obviously Mogadishu people moved on with their business, I suggest you do the same too. Move on..and build yourself a Hotel Guuleed on your confiscated land in Lugh Laughing

Considering the fact that Moryans took it over, it can't be. Remember these are the folks who would go to Masajids in Xamar, stack Qurans on top of each other, and use them as stepping stones to steal the light fixtures on the roof of the Masjid. What makes you think they wouldn't do the same with a hotel? Laughing Laughing

No life did not stop in Xamar when Aabo Siyad left it. However what the free world knows as civilization did leave Xamar. Confused . So, how much money did you Moryans fetch stealing light fixtures from the Masjids? Oh yea, next time use a ladder not Quran Kareem. up

No, I think he's just a moral supporter. At least I'd hope he didn't take part in the festivities himself. Surprised

wadaniweyn,

Its mainly groups who benefited from Barre's lavish corruption and lived la vida loca on the AID money that was ment for the poor refugees of 1986s.

Its a dark day for them, since this la vida loca ended abruptly and they suddenly found themselves in the middle of the desert of Garbahaarey with no proper functioning hospital, hotel, school, basically no civilization.

Now al these people can do is: hate every development going on in Mogadishu, create a negative image of it, speak ill about 1991 etc.

Main reason: convince themselves not to return to Mogadishu and resist that deep down feeling inside of them that is dying to go back to Mogadishu and leave the barren lands of Garbahaarey, Ceelwaaq etc.

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing . Somaliweyn, I have to admit that you are the most interesting person to debate with. For one, ONE subclan of Darood sitting ont three Gobols (regions) of Somalia today, while you guys slaughter yourselves for rundown, decimated neighborhoods riddled with Moryan bullets. Wallahi I once talked to this guy who knew Xamar inside out and he told me that in Xamar (Pre-ICU) you could buy yourself 7 'Technicals" in Xamar, and you would immedietely be a "Warloard" with a neighborhood in Xamar to control, no lie. Laughing Laughing . As for MSB leaving, my family didn't enjoy any special, "royal" treatment by any means, however I'm simply stating the facts. You guys took Xamar which was great, but the whole world has seen that you guys need severe remedial training when it comes to the areas of rule and law, Governance, civilization, etc. Xamar is a shid whole, and everybody knows it. I'll give you a cheese cracker if you could tell me anybody who would spend 5,000 on a house in Xamar. Laughing Laughing Laughing

House market was booming in Mogadishu. Despite all anarchy and lawlessness, many people have bought houses, even people from Abudwaaq and Gedo expatriates have come back to Mogadishu and took part of the expanding economy. People built villa's, the Mogadishu of 1991 and that of now are complately different, the urban area has increased much.

Ofcourse this was all before the Tigre occupation and ensuing war.

Do not forget my friend, Mogadishu is the place which ensures the livelihoods of Southern Somalis, if it wasn't for the expanding economy of Mogadishu, Gedo people would have found it hard to cope with living in the periphery.

Even the kismaanyo you spoke highly off, was integrated to the economy of Mogadishu during the JVA days.

House market booming after thousands killed, and hundreds of thousands flee Confused I doubt the people building villas are building on xalal, the thought of people bank rolling off the war isnt something to boast about. After the collapse of the state, what economy exists, one thats runned Mafia style by rings of warlords Surprised Laughing Laughing

What do you know about Mogadishu post-1991? Nothing!

I've been there 2003, the place is changed, although I do not remember much from pre-1991. The road going towards Balcad has become an urban area. Dayniile part of the city expanded, Yaashid, Medina etc have changed with new houses been built.

Even this current havoc caused by Tigre occupation will not slow the vibrant Mogadishu. Once they are kicked out of the country, you will see the economy from recovering and expanding again.
