Tiajuana is a not very pleasant tourist trap. Be careful what you buy there as you will have to pay duty coming back across the border on some items such as clothing. Be ultra careful about STDs if you are going for the nightlife.

Ensenada is only a little further south and is a much nicer place. There is a govenment store there with set prices where you can find a better quality of craft items and other souvenirs.

The beaches south of Tiajuana are lovely and unspoiled. Enjoy.

AW,

Sportsfishing from boats out of SD, or probably Ensenada, is excellent. It's been too long for me to know what is in season right now, but years ago I used to go out of SD for both rock fish and salmon. Also yellowfin tuna and bonito.

There's a per-person charge. Some of the boats will let you rent a rig. All of the boats I ever went on supplied live bait. You usually have to arrange ahead of time.

Grant,

Thanks, it sounds like fun.

Maybe, this will be worth the 36 hour drive.
