(SomaliNet) Two of the local insurgents killed themselves in explosion mid last night when they tried to plant a roadside bomb near the police station in Hodan district, south of the Somalia capital Mogadishu, local security official and residents said on Friday.
The deputy police spokesman Abdulahi Omar told the local media this morning the fleshes of the deceased men found in the area where they wanted to put in the mine.
Two others belonging to the militants were also in the explosion. Some reports say they had fallen in the hands of the police forces.
After the dawn break of this morning, the government soldiers sealed off the area of the blast to investigate what happened.
It is the second time that supporters of the ousted Islamist movement lost fighters in bomb explosion aimed to target the government interest.
It was early this year when four Islamist militants perished in explosive device boarded on the car they were riding near the main soccer stadium Mogadishu.
