nah i feel sorry for the lebanese army, they are the only real patriotic force in the country.
them and hezbollah.

unfortunatley the bad guys in this conflict are not the mythical " al qaeda in lebanon"

most people are suspisious about the hariris and thier supporters,they have bought the sunni support with thier money, but they are not working for the interests of lebanon, but they are allied to the neo-conservatives and Isreal, and secretly allied to the minorty chrstian fascist phalangists.


While hezbollah the shiites and most of the mainline christians in lebanon are on the side of good.

Sunday night, Sept 2, Lebanese prime minister Fouad Siniora hailed as “a great
victory over terror” the Lebanese army’s success in wresting the northern Nahr
al Barad refugee camp from the al Qaeda-linked Palestinian Fatah al Islam.
DEBKAfile’s military sources say the battle raging against a pro-Syrian
Palestinian Islamist faction holed up there since May is not yet over. The
Lebanese army has indeed captured the camp, but an underground labyrinth of
tunnels and bunkers has not been purged. According to intelligence estimates,
dozens of fighters are still holed up there and plentifully supplied with arms.
DEBKAfile’s sources disclose that East German military engineers built the Nahr
al Barad subterranean fortress in the 80s for Yasser Arafat and his armed Fatah
men as a shelter from Israeli air raids. Its purge will be painful and difficult. The Lebanese army has forbidden entry to the camp and told
its Palestinian inhabitants they cannot return for the time being.
The final battle of Nahr al Barad was triggered by an Islamist attack Sunday
morning on a Lebanese military position from three directions. The assault’s
failure with heavy casualties sent the Palestinian extremists diving
underground. At least 30 Palestinian Fatah al-Islam fighters were reported
killed and more than 40 captured. Five Lebanese troops also died.
Lebanese security forces claim that the Fatah al-Islam leader Shaker al-Abassi
was killed. His body was identified by a prisoner, but DNA tests are being
carried out to make sure.

half of the army are mostly shias and hezbollah supporters and the minorty are sunnis and christians so why would hezbollah enjoy of this battle? though i know its in syria and iran interest to weaken the army and the goverment.
