Adanboy,

I spoke to these UIC supporters back before the war against the Xamar warlords.

I urged them to avoid them whole issue of disarming any groups and to do everything by dialogue.

I saw that the danger was not with the Xamar warlords but with the Tigrey and their puppet TFG in Jowhar and Baidoa.

ICU made clear they were not disarming the somali people while there was enemy on the front door..But it was naturally to disarm the factionleaders to create more trust and security..The warlords were aggressors also..They were beeing used as proxy by the Baydhabo group,we all now that..They declared war on ICU..If they managed to defeat the ICU that time ,am sure Ethiopia woulda conquer somalia "peacefuly" just like they did to the socalled somaliland and puntland..

Adanboy,

But u have to pick your enemies carefully. When there are wolves at the doorstep, it is no time to pick fights inside the house.

Did u know that some of the best fighters in Xamar were deported by the ICU to Mudug ? These were the professionals who would have easily fought the Xabash and TFG with devastating results.

So what was gained ?

But that is in the past, the UIC needs to apologize and make up with the its enemies.

I heard good fighters were sent to Mudug, and they broke through the Bandiiradley front from 2 sides, surrounded the ethiopian and TFG soldiers,. untill the mainly Saleebaan front gave up when they shoulda have pushed from their side to finish the job..and guess, they backed off to near their stronghold ,covered the technicals with white sheets and when the enemy arrived ,they claimed they were not in the war...Many of them were excuted on the spot...Have you heard about this incident??

No amount of skill and bravery is a match for tanks and airstrikes on the battlefield, not unless you have the ability to take down tanks and helicopters and airplanes.

The Mujahideen in Afghanistan had American stinger missiles and anti-tank guns and rockets, and their mountainous terrain where they could lay devastating ambushes.

The ICU had only small arms, mounted antiaircraft guns and 120mm mortars. While it is possible to fight tanks and aircraft with these weapons, it is very difficult. Somalia's terrain also favors tanks and aircraft, with especially in the south, where it is flat.

The ICU was simply outgunned. If the ICU had massive numerical superiority they might have still won somehow, but the odds were about even.

ICU could have bought many BM-21 missile launghers and heavy artillery ,retreat the sodiers into the big cities..and only use big guns and artillery against standing ethiopian army in the open battlefields and distroyed Baydhabo completely.
AdanBoy,

The average maryoleey hates the Xabash more than another Somali.

What u need to do is guarantee that there is no infighting after the Xabash are thrown out ?

At the end of the day, there should be an agreed agenda for the struggle and what happens after the Xabash leave to prevent any more bloodshed.
You basically summed it up in these couple words as to whats happening in Ogaden or somali Galbeed. most tribes are very suspicious and worried about what happens if they all join the struggle and the ethopians are out. ding ding i guess we saw what happened between the Hawiya Alliance after Siad Barre was kicked out which one had most of the weapons and tried to annhaliate the other. somalian's dont trust each other and without the truth there is no moving forward and solution.
