Biifbaaf,

Thanks for enlightenment bro.

Young Royal,

I know that but Ramadan is not like every other month. I am surprised at the topics dominating this forum at such a blessed month.

Did you know that Nimrod was the most proud man ever created, he was punished with a mosquito that went into his ear and was disturbing him until it depraved him of sleep, the only time it will quiet down was when he is hit with the sole of a shoe on his forhead. So much for his pride.

Did you know that Musa (AS) tried to hit the two walls of the sea when reer Bani Israel crossed the red sea, but Allah told him to leave it as it is, so, when Fircown tried to cross is when Allah (SW) decreed the walls to close in on him and his followers.

Did you know that every question that prophet Muhammad (SAW) was asked, an ayah was revealed that started with "Qul" or tell them except for one Ayah, and that is when an A3rabi asked the prophet (SAW) if Allah is close by so he should address Him in soft voice or is He (SW) far so he should yell. The Ayah revealed on that occassion did not started with "Qul" but "Wa idhaa sa'alaka cibaadii cannii fa'innii qariibun ujiibu dacwata daacii idhaa dacaanii" so as there should not be any mediator between Allah and His creation.

Did you know that the only person Cumar Ibn Al-Khataab (RA) could not beat in righteous acts was Abu Bakr (RA). Omar (RA) tried everything but failed to beat him in every aspect of righteous acts

Did you know that Aisha (RA) used to come into the graves of prophet Muhammad (SAW) and Abu Bakr (RA) with her sleeping gown, but stopped when Omar (RA) was added there.

Did you know that there was a day that prophet Muhammad (SAW) was leaning on his side, propped up on his elbow and his head resting on his hand, Abu Bakr (RA) came in, he SAW) did not change his position, then Omar (RA) came in, he (SAW) did not change position, Uthman (RA) came in, he (SAW) sat up, then they asked him why he changed his position when Uthman (RA) came in. He (SAW) said, I am shy of Uthman (RA), even the angels are shy of Uthman (RA)

Biifbaaf,

Did you read the story about Hazrat Musa and Hazrat Khidhar and Musa's SERVANT Yusha bin Nun?

What OTHER children did Musa have that are mentioned in the Quran?

Basra,

Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing Laughing

Are you fasting or are in that period of time that you are exempted?

Did you know that Aisha (RA) was also known as "Umm-Dhiib" she used to dowse the Dirham she intends to give for alms in perfume. When asked why would she do that, she (RA) used to say "I am putting the Diram in Allah's (SW) hands b4 I put it in the beggar's hand.

Did you know that Aisha (RA) when paying sadaqah, she used to put the dirham in her hand then extend it for the beggar to take it, so that the beggar's hand would always be on top. Then she would make du'a for the beggar for giving her the opportunity to make sadaqah.

Did you know that Aisha (RA) relayed 2625 hadeeths from the prphet (SAW)

Did you know that prophet Muhammad (SAW) did not marry another wife during the time that he was married to Khadeejah (RA) which was 25 years, and when she died, he stayed for 5 years without a wife. He (SAW) remarried at the age of 55.

Did you that Uthman (RA) was married to two of the prophet's (SAW) daughters. He (RA) first married Um-Kulthum and when she died, he married Ruqayyah, when she died, the prophet (SAW) said if he had ten more daughters, he would've married them to him one after the other.

Did you know that Abdulmattalib asked Allah for ten sons and promised that he will sacrifice one if that wish is granted to him. He got ten, ten arrows were thrown and it so happened that Abdullahi (the prophet's (SAW) father) became the one to be sacrificed, however, Abdulmuttalib's love for Abdullahi was so great that he looked for alternative. It was concluded that the arrows should be thrown for Abdullahi and ten camels, it fall on him ten times and then t fall on the camels on the 11th time. 100 camels were slaughtered for his sake. Why wasn't he sacrificed? Because he was destined to father the greatest man to be born to mankind.

Biif Baaf,

It turns out I was wrong about Moses not having children. The books of Exodus and Numbers state he had two sons, Gershom and Eliezer, by his wife Ziporah, the daughter of the Midianite Jethro, and the sons did have descendants, but the descendants, while Levites, were subservient to the sons of Aaron, which seems strange.

It may or may not interest you to know that, in the Torah, Moses is said to be a Levite, while Joshua was of the House of Ephraim, one of the two Joseph tribes. He succeeded Moses, but was not directly related to him.

Here is the story of Musa and Yusha from another Islamic source.

http://www.islamonline.net/servlet/Sate ... ntCounselE

"Pertaining the name of your son, you have chosen to call him Ushey also written as Yusha' , which is a Hebrew variant of Joshua, Yeshua and Oshea which means “God is my salvation.” and Yusha' bin Nun is known as Jashua in the Torah.

Although the name Yusha` is not mentioned frankly in the Holy Qur`an yet some of the exegetes (Mufassir) of the Qur'an said Yusha' bin Nun was the servant of prophet Musa who accompanied him in his travel to meet Al Khidr as mentioned in Surat Al Kahf ( The Cave).

(And when Musa said to his servant: I will not cease until I reach the junction of the two rivers or I will go on for years ) (Al- Kahf 18 : 60)

(But when they had gone farther, he said to his servant: Bring to us our morning meal, certainly we have met with fatigue from this our journey. He said: Did you see when we took refuge on the rock then I forgot the fish, and nothing made me forget to speak of it but the Shaytan, and it took its way into the river; what a wonder ) (Al- Kahf 18 : 62 & 63)

And in the following ahadith:

"Prophet Muhammad said, 'Once Moses stood up and addressed Bani Israel. He was asked who was the most learned man amongst the people. He said, 'I.' Allah admonished him as he did not attribute absolute knowledge to Him (Allah). So, Allah said to him, 'Yes, at the junction of the two seas there is a Slave of Mine who is more learned than you.' Moses said, 'O my Lord! How can I meet him?' Allah said, 'Take a fish and put it in a large basket and you will find him at the place where you will lose the fish.' Moses took a fish and put it in a basket and proceeded along with his (servant) boy, Yusha 'bin Nun, till they reached the rock where they laid their heads (i.e. lay down). Moses slept, and the fish, moving out of the basket, fell into the sea. (Bukhari 4: 55 #613 )

Prophet Muhammad also said the sun never stopped to any one except for Yusha 'bin Nun where he led his people after the death of Moses to enter the Holy Land.

“…So he marched on and approached a village at or about the time of the Asr prayers. He said to the sun: Thou art subservient (to Allah) and so am I. O Allah, stop it for me a little. It was stopped for him until Allah granted him victory….) (Muslim 19 # 4327)

Only you can decide what is the best of names for the child, who will grow and live by this name, so seek further guidance.

All my du`aa' for you and your son that Allah would accept him with the pious and righteous as He accepted Musa and his servant."

Grant:There is a widely accepted scholarly consensus that Joshua was Musa's son, but I came accross some literature which says he was actually Musa's nephew. The son of Musa's sister Miriyam, I still have not found a specific hadeeth, will get back to you once I find what I need.

BTW, did you know that Musa married the daughter of a Prophet named Shu'aib ? Shuaib (as) was sent to the people of Madyan (Syria) who were infamous when it came to robbing travellers and conducted immoral business practises.

In the Bible, Shuaib is called Jethro.

Joshua served Musa for many years and when Musa (as) died at age 150 years, Joshua assumed the responsibility of a Prophet and led the Israelites to the Holly land. Khidr was a very knowledgable man, whom Musa (as) was ordered to see by his lord; because he proclaimed that he was the most knowledgeable man on earth. Very interesting story!

Jethro was the father of Ziporah.

In the Torah, the husband of Miriam was a man by the name of Hur. He and Aaron held up Moses' arms during the parting of the Red Sea.

Yusha bin nun, was the servant of Musa (peace be upon him), and the story of the cave in Quran refers to Yusha as such. After Musa passed, leadership of Bani Israil was passed to Yusha, because being Musa's servant he learned the wisdom of prophethood from him by being his compaion. Yusha with an army of the childeren of Israil, he freed palestine. Infact the amazing thing in one of Yusha's battles with the pagans, the day was coming to an end, and he wanted to finish off the enemy before nightfall so the pagans wouldn't get a chance to regroup. So he looked at the sun and pointed to it and said "you are taking commands, and so am I, so stop!" and the sun stopped, and the enemy was routed. The childeren of Israil were the first nation to fight for their religion, and the fighting was continued in the time of Rasululah (Muhammad, SAW). Cool

This can all be found in the Quran, and the Sahih Hadith (Muslim, Bukahari etc.) Cool
