James,

Las Canod is near the frontline and so changes hands often.

Never the less, Somaliland has been very aggressive this month than ever before.

AbdiWahab

There is great difference in " wich " Somaliland forces that enter the city.
If its Somaliland dhulbahante soldiers then lets hope everything turns okay for both parts , the tfg dhulos will leave the land for majerteenia and good dhulos will govern their region better as part and parcel of Somaliland.

James Dahl there are som minor errors in your advanced map.
For instance Buhoodle is marked as Somaliland town.

You are right the district of Buhoodle is majority habr jeclo towns surrounding but that city is dhulbahante.

And in Xudun district its half Somaliland because of Isaaq citizens there , Sacad Younis . And in Ceel Afweyne you make the border larger then it is on Maakhir side , what makes you believe that warsangeli pastoralists are more than Habr Jeclo pastorlists ?

Another important point is that you have forgotten the grazing and plantation areas of Midhisho town between Ceerigaabo and Hadaaftimo.
Midhisho is 50 km away from Ceerigaabo , and 100 % Somaliland areas.
after Midhisho comes Jidalii .

And the coastal line you forgot Karin Turwaa , again here you are favoring the warsangeli clan wich makes up less than 3 % of North Somalia population .

Galgala is by the way an ancient town not connected to Maakhir , its people is distinct and today more close to Majerteen , they call themselves Nuux Mohamud I think.

Otherwise the map is fully correct , just your sense and redraw the borders in Ceel afweyn , Ceerigaabo ----> Midhisho
And Xudun wich is half Isaaq deegmo .

Do you mean Gadhwayn, the Habar Ahmed subclan of Warsangeli. I only know that Gadhwayn subclan of Warsangeli. The Iidoor in Sanaag are under Warsangeli protection. You should praise it and worship your masters.

Midhisho and Karin Tuurwa is on the Somaliland side of the map I made. This will be more obvious when I have the smaller towns included. As to Xudun district, do you know which villages are Somaliland border villages? I have very little info about the border here.

James

I will hear around with somalis from the area , give me a couple of days.
meanwhile you could expand Ceerigaabo border by 50 km so it includes rightfully my town and grazing areas .

Xudun is a hard one , but I will do my best.
Somaliland Times had an article about that district not too far ago.
maybe you should send them an email .

" “The two regions of Sanaag and Sool are, in the words of a recent report, “one of the deepest faultlines in Somali politics”. […] When Abdullahi Yusuf proposed that the Harti-inhabited areas of Sool and eastern Sanaag regions – which Somaliland claims as part of its territory – be included in the newly created state of Puntland in 1998, he did so for tactical reasons. Inclusion of the Dolbahante and Warsengeli clans gave him additional allies with which to outmanoeuvre rivals within his own Majerteen clan. But the move has since been a very costly one for Puntland, as it places the state in direct and seemingly irrevocable conflict with its larger and more powerful neighbour, Somaliland .

[IMDC] source *

You see even the analysts know Somaliland can easlily walk over Puntland and the troublemakers in east Sanaag and Sool .
There is no military challenge for us in North Somalia .
in the Dhahar incident Somaliland forces took control of Qardhi capital of Karkaar , and closed the highway between Garowe and Bosaaso .
It was a warning *

James Dahl, how come you are not including Ceerigabo in Maakhir state.
For instance, Ceel Laqoday, is a Jibriil Siciid small town just 5km east of Erigavo. 16 out of 18 villages and small towns that come under Ceerigaabo District are settled by Warsangeli.

Ceel Laqoday
