[quote="Ina Baxar"]Gurey my honorable friend , it's been 17 yrs of Somaliland pursuing independence, not ONE day have we said we were willing to work anything with the rest of our brothers .

I do not agree , for we in Somaliland have a simpler equation since Isaaq are the dominant political force . In that scope we ain't any different than Puntland who in 10 yrs managed to establish a relative peaceful structure in their region .
PS: I'd be willing to go as far as saying { on the record } that the Majeerteen are politically more courageous than us , but at what cost though

inabaxar,
couragous or simply more selfish and ultimatley smarter.
We fougth 10 years for our freedom, and we didnt have any appetite for more war,
or imposing our will on the rest of somalia, thats why we went down the road of independance.
ofcourse the USC dissolution dissaster and ali mahdi calling himself president helped as well.
you know as well as i do that the majority of SNM had no interest in independance,
the lack of a credible partner in the south was the deciding factor.
now back to the differance between Puntland and somaliland.
reer puntland have been more ambitious and cynical becuase in the end all that they have done was to their ultimate advantage.
compare Somaliland that inherited more of the SNA millitary assests than aideeds USC
and potentially had more men under arms, to the rest of somalia.
we all know the damage aideed did from mudug to the juba valley.
we simple made peace and expected everyone else to behave like us.
