Assalaamualaikum brothers and sisters.
I wanted to make this post about UK immigration system about somalis and their immigration problems or even help each other through this post.

I myslef have a problem...if any of yous could please help me...wether you might know of someone who is in the same situation as me etc

Well, basically, i am not somali, I was born and raised in the UK. I am 19 years old. I got married to a somali man on March 31st 2005. Islamic marriage.
We have been together ever since, and also we have a one year old girl.
He came on assylum but was refused twice. Since he hasnt got permanent stay here, We applied for the COA (certificate of approval) to get married in the UK. That took 2 years to get.
Now we finally have it, we are going to register our marriage tommorow on Monday 8th October 2007 at the local registrar then after that we are going to apply for ILR(Indefnate leave to remain)-permanent stay. And have got a solicitor ready for the next process.

Firstly, has anyone had or know someone who have had this experience?

Already tried them. But i find that these free advisors in the CAB especially, dont know much. They just run from one room to another asking someone every question you put to them.
And the amount of time it takes to see an advisor too!
But thanks for the suggestion though.
Already been to the local MP, ombudsman, IAS, and other people too.
But for now, we're just going to get married tomorow firstly then start the application for the ILR-permanent stay.
Which i want to know, how long does that take to get an answer from the home office?
Also, would it help my husband to get some job offer letters from future employers?
And if i am working, would that help too, would that get him his stay faster?
Becasue home office is known for the amount of time it takes on peoples applications.

Are you Pashtun? Do Pashtun women marry Somali men? Laughing How many of you are there in the UK?

Is your hubby a political asylum? Tell him to say if he were to go back to somalia that they would kill him for his clan or his political views.

well, if his from Somaliland let him go back and just send two $200 every months...

if his from somalia, make sure he mentions in his application that he is a loyal and a dedicated suporter of the TFG and especialy Melez's vision of the New Ethiomalia.

I take it you may know some pashtunz and are aware of the cultre lolz... Yea pashtun women marry Somali men, even though it is a lonnnnng process (with the family i mean, grandparents especially)
...infact, my aunty in birimngham is also married to a somali.
And mostly in the UK, the pashtunz are spread everywhere but mostly i think, birmigham is half owned by them!

Is your hubby a political asylum? Tell him to say if he were to go back to somalia that they would kill him for his clan or his political views.[/quote]
Actually my husband is from Kenya really but well, you know the rest lolz
Political asylum? ...as in, fled from persucution etc? ....yea, and our solicitor told us he would write a cover letter explaining that somalia was not safe and other reasons such as he will be married to me under UK law and that we have a child etc...that he has started a family in the UK etc.
I also requested some info on somalia from the UNHCR to support our case.
You think somali cases are straight forward?
What else do you think would make them process the application faster, eg a fake letter from africa doctor saying that one of his family members are ill or do you think many questions will be asked, if done that?

^ find out your husbands clan and find out how they are involved in a clash with another clan.... Then you can say he escaped from Constant clashes because of his identity.
